    Denver’s Halloweekend Events

The leaves are falling, the air is crisper, the days are shorter and Halloween is just around the corner. It’s also a time when Denver attractions celebrating the holiday open — everything from terrifying haunted houses and late-night costume parties for adults, to corn mazes and family-friendly festivals for the kids. Here are some of the best Halloween events that can’t be missed:

Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Corn Maze

Get lost at this year’s Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield‘s eight-acre Corn Maze, one of the most attended corn mazes in the country. Wind your way through acres of corn in search of Farmer Green’s lost animals, view the design from two 15-foot tall illuminated bridges that overlook the giant Corn Maze. Hayrides, a giant jump pillow and pony rides will be available for an additional cost. An array of food vendors will offer some of your favorite fall foods, including freshly squeezed lemonade, funnel cakes, hot dogs and kettle corn. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday thru Oct. 30th

    Boo Zoo

    Boo at the Zoo

The annual Boo at the Zoo offers more than 20 trick-or-treat stations, creepy crawly animal demonstrations and exciting family-friendly entertainment under the canopy of Denver Zoo’s beautiful fall foliage. Activities are free with zoo admission. Boo After Dark on Oct. 28 and 29 offers visitors a nighttime trick-or-treating experience. Oct. 28th & 29th 6:30pm – 9:00pm

    Highland Haunt

A great event for the whole family, Highland Haunt is a festival complete with horse-driven hayrides, face-painting, mechanical bulls, carnival games, petting zoos, costume contests, mariachi bands, parades and more. Oct. 29th 11am – 3pm

    Elitch Gardens: Fright Fest

Once the sun goes down, Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park is transformed from a theme park to a scream park. During the day, little ones squeal in glee over the free candy on the Trick or Treat Trail. At night, haunted creatures lurk around every corner. Free with regular admission, this popular event is a great way to get into the Halloween spirit! Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights thru Oct. 30th

    The 13th Floor Haunted House

Hailed by Fangoria Magazine as “the #1 scariest haunted attraction in the U.S.,” the 13th Floor Haunted House takes guests through a frightening tour of horror. Brave souls will learn just why the 13th floor is so often omitted from building plans — if they make it through to tell the tale. It promises new thrills with intricate sets, highly selective casting and incredible special effects makeup that is sure to make reality and fiction blur into terror. Open nightly until Oct. 31st & Friday-Saturday Nov 4-5 and 11-12

    Spooky Speakeasy

Terminal Bar inside Denver’s Union Station will be showing scary movies starting at 9 p.m. while a nearby DJ spins creepy tunes. In true Terminal Bar fashion, Halloween cocktails and beer specials will be offered and the night will feature a costume contest with prizes — the grand prize being a one-night stay at The Crawford Hotel and a $100 gift card to Denver Union Station. Oct. 28 9pm

Revered as one of the top Denver Halloween costume parties in Colorado, the 9th annual Coloweens summons Denver’s seasoned party goers as downtown Denver’s one of a kind Curtis Hotel is transformed into a frightfully fantastic open bar hotel takeover experience. Several Denver DJs will perform. Saturday Oct. 29th 8pm – 2am

Denver Halloween Costume Ball at Mile High Station

Century-old Mile High Station is the scene of this spooky ball with a $1,000 Best of The Ball costume contest. The event features live Halloween entertainment and DJs mixing Top 40, dance, hip-hop and more. Multiple open bars included in your entry will be scattered around the ballroom and mezzanine. There are a limited amount of 800 non-refundable tickets available. Saturday Oct. 29th 9pm – 2am
