    Peak Performance: An Interview with Realtor Chad Nixon

    Tell us a little bit about you and your background. How long have you been in the industry?

    I’ve been in the industry for almost six years, as of November. I’m originally from California, and I lived in Northern Virginia, close to DC – before I moved back here to attend the University of Northern Colorado. I was there for a bit, and I went to a community college before I had to move back to California to deal with an illness in the family.

    Then I came back to Colorado and started working on my home that I bought about six months prior – at the age of 19. Fortunately, I had my buddies living with me to pay for those expenses. So, I got to fix that house up out here, and I thought that since real estate was always something I wanted to do out here, I decided to jump right in and start my career.

    What drives you to be the best at what you do?

    To me, real estate is truly like a lifestyle. It’s definitely MY lifestyle. It’s amazing not only helping out clients and getting them into new homes but seeing them years after they brought their first home through me looking for rentals and building up their real estate portfolio. My clients real estate success and their happiness is what ultimately drives me

    What I enjoy the most is seeing my clients succeed and be happy with what they’re purchasing. I’m also the managing broker for our Greely office; I was building my team at Remax right before I partnered with Peak to open up the office in Greeley here in Northern Colorado. That has been so much fun – not only seeing my clients succeed in real estate but also building up our associates on the team and seeing them grow and help out as many people as they can.

    What does being a realtor mean to you and your clients?

    It’s holding myself to an extremely high standard, always striving to be the best and better myself in my personal life and business life. It’s also a desire not just to treat anyone as just a typical transaction – but to hear what they’re looking for, what they need, and to not just sell them on some random house but to find them a home.

    In today’s market, why is it important for a buyer or home seller to use a realtor to buy or sell a home?

    There are so many moving parts in the process. It’s a huge, huge transaction. In all likelihood, it’s one of their biggest purchases a person will ever have in their lifetime. They need someone that knows the market, knows what they’re doing, and cares about them so that they’re not getting taken advantage of. They need to know whatever is going on with the transaction and that they have a great professional helping them out every step of the way.

    What’s your favorite thing about living in Colorado?

    The people. The people are amazing. Also, it’s fantastic for everything outdoors. I can drive an hour and be in Rocky Mountain National Park; I can drive an hour and a half and go to my favorite camping spot. Enjoying the outdoors is one of my favorite things.

    What’s one fun thing about you?

    I enjoy the lovely outdoors of Colorado, entertaining friends, and working on my yard. I have dogs and cats and chickens -everybody always laughs at me when they hear about my chickens, since I live in the suburbs. I enjoy entertaining friends and clients at my home and local breweries, too. I love to travel a ton. I love to go see new states, new countries, learn things about the world and other people out there and different cultures.

    And, it sounds kind of goofy, but real estate is truly my passion and what is fun for me.
