Founded in 2001, Centennial, CO is one of the newest cities in the state. Its name pays homage to the official state nickname, “The Centennial State”, reflecting the fact that Colorado achieved statehood on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
With a population that was just over 100,000 people at the time of the 2010 census, Centennial is large enough to offer top-notch services and amenities but small enough to keep a strong sense of community.

With its location in the south metro Denver area, Centennial offers breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains and is close enough to the big city to allow residents to commute back and forth with ease.

Since being founded, the city has attracted many major employers as well; Comcast, Oppenheimer Funds and Cisco Systems all have offices here, and the Denver Tech Center, or DTC, is just a short drive away.
Outdoor enthusiasts adore Centennial for many reasons. Being so close to the Rockies is a major draw in its own right, but city planners made a point of retaining plenty of open spaces as well.
As a result, the city is studded with excellent parks and recreational areas, including many popular walking, hiking and cycling trails. The Highline Canal Trail is a definite standout, and ravines, gullies and hills lend the city a unique ambiance.
Families flock to Centennial for its excellent schools. The city is served by two districts, Cherry Creek Public Schools and Littleton Public Schools. There are also several colleges and universities nearby.
The city’s retail sector includes the second-largest IKEA store in the state, and popular shopping destinations like the Centennial Promenade and The Streets at South Glenn offer a little bit of something for everyone.

In 2009, CQ Press ranked Centennial as the 15th safest city in the country. In 2012, it came in 47th on CNN Money’s list of the “Best Places to Live.” The weather certainly helps.
The city enjoys around 320 days of sunshine per year, which allows residents to make the most of the many trails that wend their way through the area.
At nearby Cherry Creek State Park, there are many other prime opportunities for enjoying the great outdoors. Sports enthusiasts especially love living so close to the Broncos training facility.
Top-Notch Neighborhoods
