The Denver Highlands neighborhood is located northwest of the Denver, CO downtown core. It is one of the most up and coming neighborhoods in the Denver area. The area is bounded by West 38th Avenue on the north, Union Pacific Railroad lines on the east, South Platte River on the southeast, Speer Boulevard and West 29th Avenue to the south, and Federal Boulevard on the west. It combines the two city-center neighborhoods West Highland and Highland in North Denver. Highland is sometimes also referred to as East Highland, Lower Highlands, or LoHi. The whole area also contains sub-neighborhoods as Sunnyside, Jefferson Park, and Berkeley.
This area has gone through a major revitalization since the building of the Denver Millennium Bridge, Platte River Bridge, and the Highland Bridge over Interstate 25. Many of the old parking lots and failing buildings have been replaced with beautiful high-end condos and lofts.
